PURPOSE: To obtain a stepping motor that achieves both high angular accuracy and high torque, and that allows microstep driving. CONSTITUTION: A stepping motor consists of a rotor 8 having a large number of permanent magnets arranged on its periphery in the direction of circumference in such a manner that the north poles and the south poles are alternated; exciting coils 3, 6; and stator yokes 2, 4, 5, 7 that constitutes a magnetic circuit excited by the coils 3, 6, and that has a large number of plate-like salient pole teeth 10a, opposed to the periphery of the rotor 8 and parallel with the rotor axis. Each of the plate-like projected pole teeth 10a is tapered from its base to its top, and both its sides are arched and recessed inward. |
