PURPOSE: To effectively improve corrosion resistance and to thereby contrive the improvement of durability of a device as the whole thereby. CONSTITUTION: This magnetic head slider is provided with a slider main body 12, on which a magnetic head is mounted, and a slider protective film 15 fitted on the ABS surface of an air supporting surface part of the slider main body 12. The slider protective film 15 is constituted of a protective film composed of an adhesive layer made of silicon oxide and a carbon layer. In the producing method, before the adhesive layer and the carbon layer are formed, the air supporting surface part of the slider main body 12 is etched by using reverse sputtering method. |
