<p>Developer composition comprises p-hydroxybenzene silver halide developer, dissociated sulphite derived from water soluble sulphite consisting of alkali metal formaldehyde bi-sulphite, alkali metal sulphites or their mixture, and a polyvinyl pyrrolidone polymer of mean mol. wt. is not >360,000 and a water solubility >=10 ppm. Image contrast, and definition of halftone dots is improved. Suitable polymers may be produced from N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone. Suitable vinyl pyrrolidone polymers may be marketed as "Ganex V"-series (RTM) of Gen. Aniline and Film Corp., New York.</p> |
