ATTRACTANT FOR PLAUTIA-STALI-SCOTT

PURPOSE: To obtain a new compound having an attracting action for Plautia- stali-Scott as an injurious insect of a fruit tree. CONSTITUTION: The objective compound is (E,E,Z)-2,4,6-methyl decatrienate. An acetone extract from about 10×10<4> males of Plautia-stali-Scott is concentrated, dehydrated, subjected to a Florisil column chromatography and subsequently to a silica gal high-performance liquid chromatography to obtain an active fraction. The resultant fraction is purified by a gas chromatography to obtain the objective material.
