PURPOSE: To provide an optical integrated circuit capable of obtaining single- mode light and to provide an optical fiber gyroscope including the optical integrated circuit. CONSTITUTION: This optical integrated circuit is provided with a waveguide 24 formed on the upper surface of a substrate 21 and a mode filter 50 arranged so as to be crossed to the waveguide 24. Among light rays propagated through the waveguide 24, only zero-order single-mode light rays are transmitted through the mode filter 50. In the optical fiber gyroscope provided with such the optical integrated circuit, the light rays transmitted through the optical fiber loop are only the zero-order single-mode light rays, then, an accurate gyroscopic signal is obtained. |
