PURPOSE: To maintain a uniform and stable coating state for a long time by inserting an oil-supplying porous material into the hollow part of a hollow pipe and allowing the porous material to hold oil. CONSTITUTION: This coating roll 9 to supply a minute amt. of oil is obtd. by making an oil stay in the hollow part of a hollow pipe 1, forming an oil diffusing layer around the pipe and an oil permeation controlling layer on the outermost circumference, and forming air passage on the roll ends. In this roll 9, an oil absorbing porous material 5 having an oil absorbing power which is at least larger than the outer diameter of the hollow pipe 1 is inserted into the hollow pipe 1 and the porous material 5 is impregnated with an oil. The oil absorbing power is defined by the following method. After an oil-absorbing porous material 5 of a desired shape is preliminarily impregnated with an oil, the material is left to stand on a tray to measure the position of the upper end surface of the oil in the oil-absorbing porous material. When descending of the position is stopped, the height of the upper end surface of the oil in the oil-absorbing material from the liquid surface of the oil reserved in the tray is measured and the obtd. value is regarded as the oil absorbing power. |
