PURPOSE: To damp the oscillation of a high-rise building oscillating in a long period, prevent the damage in the building and, at the same time, to provide a long period building oscillation damper with a simple construction for protecting a user. CONSTITUTION: A belt-shaped member 1 containing an immanent substance capable of plastic deformation is made to lie between both sides of a joint section 13 of a brace 11 of a building and a beam 8 side. Contact joint and contact release between the belt-shaped member 1 and joint section 13 are detected by detectors 3. The belt-shaped member 1 is moved at proper timing by a controller 4 operated on the basis of a detection signal and a moving mechanism 2. By the constitution, the belt-shaped member 1 maintains damping function kept always in a fresh state. |
