PURPOSE: To prevent abnormal dissolution frequently generated at the time of subjecting aluminum foil for a low pressure electrolytic capacitor to roughening treatment and to obtain stable capacitance free from dispersion. CONSTITUTION: The average size of the crystalline grains of high purity aluminum foil is regulated to 50 to 150μm, and the volume ratio in the orientation of the cube is regulated to 10 to 80%. As for the method for producing the same, a rolling stock having a sheet thickness by which the draft for regulating a final sheet thickness at the time of cold rolling is subjected to intermediate annealing of holding under heating at 250 to 500 deg.C, is rolled to regulate its thickness into a final one and is thereafter subjected to final annealing of holding under heating at 250 to 450 deg.C. Thus, sufficient strength can be secured as that of aluminum foil for a low pressure electrolytic capacitor, furthermore, good etching free from dispersion is executed, and desired capacitance can stably be obtd.
