<p>PURPOSE: To provide a bearing device for axle capable of correctly detecting the vehicle speed by arranging a sensor at the position away from the axis of an inner member in the horizontal direction. CONSTITUTION: A sensor 14 is arranged at the position away from the axis of an axle shaft 8 in the horizontal direction, i.e., the position whose phase is deviated in 90 deg. direction from the contact point E of a tire. When the sensor 14 is arranged at this point, the air gap 8 is not changed even when the turning moment is applied to a wheel, and the output voltage of the sensor 14 is not fluctuated. Thus, no error is generated in the pitch of the output voltage, and the vehicle speed can be correctly detected. Not only an electromagnetic sensor but also an active sensor such as a Hall element and an MR element can be used the sensor 14.</p> |
