摘要 PURPOSE: To obtain a digital contour compensating device reduced in its size and saving its power by efficient circuit constitution. CONSTITUTION: An inputted digital video signal S0 is successively delayed by seven delay circuits 1 to 7 based upon a synchronizing signal clk and signals having the same positive and negative time differences in the horizontal or vertical directions from the timing of a picture element signal S4 are mutually added by respective adder circuits 9 to 11. A selector 12 selects one of added output signals S8, S9, S10 based upon the setting of boost frequency and a coefficient multiplier 13 multiplies the selected output signal by a prescribed coefficient. A coefficient multiplier 14 multiplies the signal S4 by a prescribed coefficient. The coefficient-processed output signals S11, S12 are synthesized by an adder 16 to obtain a contour compensated signal S13. In said constitution, it is unnecessary to prepare coefficient multipliers corresponding to all signals, the number of adders can be reduced, the circuit size and cost of the device can be reduced, and power consumption also can be reduced.
