PURPOSE: To realize restoration processing of poststage by a simple circuit in an image processor converting multi-valued image data into binary image data and subsequently restoring multi-valued image data. CONSTITUTION: When binary image data is outputted from an FIFO buffer 3, a number of black picture element counting circuit 6 counts the number BK 2 of black picture element within a '3×3' matrix with a picture element under consideration as a center. In the same way, a number of black picture element counting circuit 7 counts the number BK 1 of black picture elements within a '17×9' matrix. Based on these numbers BK 1 and BK 2 of black picture elements, a lookup table 11 and an output value table 13 are successively referred and the value corresponding to a dot diameter is outputted from the output value table 13. At this stage, the dot diameter is set so as to become smaller as the numbers BK 1 and BK 2 of black picture elements become smaller. |
