PURPOSE: To produce a thick nonoriented silicon steel sheet excellent in magnetic properties. CONSTITUTION: (1) This is a method for producing a thick nonoriented silicon steel sheet with 0.8 to 2.0mm product thickness excellent in magnetic properties in which, at the time of subjecting a slab contg., by weight, <=0.005% C, <=2.0% Si, 0.04 to 1.5% Mn, <=0.2% P, <=0.02% S, <=2.0% Al and <=0.005% N, and the balance iron with inevitable impurities to hot rolling, the finishing temp. is regulated to >=900 deg.C and the coiling temp. is regulated to 700 to 850 deg.C to obtain a hot rolled coil, which is subjected to cold rolling to regulate its thickness to 0.8 to 2.0mm, next, it is subjected to recrystallization annealing at 700 to 900 deg.C by continuous annealiang and is gradually cooled at 1 to 40 deg.C/sec from the recrystallizing temp. to at least 450 deg.C. (2) In addition to the above method (1), after continuous annealing, skinpass rolling at <=1% draft may be executed. By this method, a thick nonoriented silicon steel sheet with 0.8 to 2.0mm product thickness as prescribed in the same (1) excellent in surface shape as well as magnetic properties is produced. |
