FLOPPY DISK DRIVER CONTROL CIRCUIT AND COMBINATION OF FLOPPY DISK DRIVER AND FLOPPY DISK DRIVER CONTROL CIRCUIT

PURPOSE: To drive a floppy disk drive with a small drive current and at the same time obtain a compact and inexpensive control circuit by forming the combination of a control part and a stepping motor driver as a single CMOS- type integrated circuit and setting current for driving a stepping motor to a specific range. CONSTITUTION: A floppy disk driver control circuit controls a disk driver with a stepping motor 23. Then, it includes a control part 22 for controlling the disk driver and a stepping motor driver 21 for generating drive current for driving the stepping motor 23. A mechanism control circuit 110 and a stepping motor control circuit 112 are provided with a CMOS transistor as a switching transistor. The stepping motor driver 21 generates a drive current of 80mA-250mA when it has a diameter which is practically equal to 15mm.
