PURPOSE: To provide a speed change control device in which a problem that the speed change characteristics vary according to the vehicle change resulted from the mechanical feedback system of a toroidal type continuously variable transmission is eliminated. CONSTITUTION: An actuator 4 changes the speed of a transmission 101 by rotating an inclinedϕpower roller in response to an instruction value U, and a mechanical feedback system 102 completes the change of speed by feeding backϕaccording to a gain (a). To determine the instruction value U, the sum value of (a×ϕ) obtained by feeding back an inclined angleϕcorresponding to Ni /No obtained by a part 73 in parts 71 and 72 according to the grain (a) and (ϕ0 -ϕ).b/No obtained by feeding back a deviation between target inclined rotating anglesϕ0 andϕby parts 81 and 82 with b/No gain is designated as U.
