PURPOSE: To prevent seizure of a pinion gear addendum and derive differential limitting strength created by stabilized frictional resistance. CONSTITUTION: A differential limitting-device is provided with a differential case 3, a pair of helical side gears 15, 17 supported rotatably inside the case 3, a helical pinion gear 41 engaging with one of the side gears 17, a helical pinion gear 43 engaging not only with the other side gear 15 but also with the pinion gear 41, and storage holes 37, 39 formed on the differential case 3 and store helical pinion gears 41, 43 in a freely slidable manner. Pinion gears 41, 43 have their gear items set so that the value (1.tanβ+w)×z represented by a face width 1, a helix angleβ, a circumferential width w of the addendum, and the number of teeth z, may be in the range of two times or more of the circumferential length of the addendum. |
