PURPOSE: To provide a liquid crystal display panel of high performance in which liquid crystal molecules are uniformly oriented over an orienting film plane and to provide a rubbing mask for an oriented film which can be used for a long term. CONSTITUTION: A rubbing mask 19 having a punched part 5A is disposed on a glass substrate 2 on which transparent electrodes 2A, 2B and an orienting film 12 are successively formed so that the rubbing mask 19 is subjected to rubbing while the mask is electrically connected the transparent electrodes 2A, 2B. The principal plane of the mask 19 facing the orienting film 12 is matte finished. |
