PURPOSE: To provide a position, direction, movement detecting device detecting the position, direction, and movement of an operator in the virtual space and a headphone reproducing device orienting a sound image outside the head. CONSTITUTION: Detection signals are transmitted from three detection signal transmitters L0, L1, L2 installed in the space assumed with a virtual object S, and the signals are received by sensors X0, X1 installed on the right and left of an operator M. The time when the detection signals are transmitted, the time when the detection signals are received by the sensors X0, X1, and the position (coordinates) of the virtual object S are fed to an arithmetic means, and the positions of the sensors S0, S1 are calculated. The vector Xa between the sensors X0, X1, the vector Xs from the middle point X2 of the sensors X0, X1 to the virtual object S, and the vector Xr rotated by 90 deg. against the vector Xa starting from the position of the sensor X0 are obtained. The angle θbetween the operator M and the virtual object S is obtained by the scalar product of the vector Xa and vector Xs. The position, direction, and movement of the operator M can be easily and accurately detected. |
