<p>PURPOSE: To attain a still picture with high picture quality and high resolution while holding interchangeability with existing standards by recording the luminance data and color difference data of a divided frame in a unit picture data recording area of a recording medium. CONSTITUTION: An image of a subject is formed on the photodetecting face of a CCD 12 through an image pickup lens 11 and an analog video signal indicating the subject image is outputted from the CCD 12 and applied to a data generating circuit 13. The analog video signal is converted into digital picture data by the circuit 13 and data processing for the picture data is executed so that serial picture data express horizontal and vertical pictures. Picture data outputted from the circuit 13 are applied to a luminance/color difference generating circuit 14, which generates luminance data Y and color difference data R-Y, B-Y and applies these generated data to a picture data divider circuit 16. The circuit 16 divides the picture data and the color difference data B-Y, R-Y are respectively applied to sampling circuits 15A, 15B, which respectively compress the data volume of respective data B-Y, R-Y to 1/4.</p> |
