BATTERY CLASSIFYING APPARATUS

PURPOSE: To safely and efficiently perform the treatment of used batteries after the batteries are automatically classified by kinds. CONSTITUTION: Used batteries 3 are rotationally moved on a slope 5a one at a time and the surface images of the batteries 3 are read during movement by an image reading means 6 and the disscrimination data showing the kinds of the batteries are extracted from the read images and a discrimination means 7 discriminates the kinds of the batteries on the basis of the discrimination data. A classifying means 8 drives solenoids 16, 17 selectively on the basis of the discrimination result to change over the feed passages of the batteries 3 during movement to classify the batteries by kinds. The image reading means 6 may be changed in its direction so as to follow the movement of the batteries 3 or moved in the moving direction of the batteries 3.
