FIELD: microwave technique; heating (pasteurizing, sterilizing) liquids (water, milk, juice, ale, wine, paste); may be used as terminal load or constant attenuator in systems with microwave oscillator of continuous power up to 75 kW. SUBSTANCE: microwave heater has metal waveguide section of AxB area and 1,8 λ length, where l is wavelength in free space; two insulating pipes are inserted in waveguide at angle of 45 deg. to its wide walls which have low dielectric constant and provide for liquid circulation; pipe diameter D = 1.4A; lower wide wall of waveguide has U-shaped projection intended to match microwave heater with magnetron and to provide high density level of power flow per volume unit of treated liquid. Voltage standing wave ration of heater carrying handled liquid in its pipes is not over 1.25 and of heater with empty pipes it is not over 1.2 with matched load at output. Microwave power attenuation in heater during water heating is not over 30 dB; for higher attenuation, pasteurizer design enables series connection of several heaters.
