FIELD: smelting of slag cotton, cast iron. SUBSTANCE: gas burners are mounted spirally in hearth over perimeter at distance of 0.8 to 0.9 of hearth height from bottom or over perimeter of hearth along sectional plane dividing the hearth at angle of 30 to 60 deg to level or over perimeter of hearth along two sectional planes located at angle of 45 to 60 deg relative to each other at point of intersection at top and at bottom of hearth.
