FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: hydraulic press has base frame, loading opening located in upper part of base frame, removable gate installed in loading opening, multiplicator installed coaxially with piston positioned in low-pressure space of multiplicator, multiplicator housed in low-pressure space, and plunger positioned in high-pressure space of multiplicator, recess for medium transmitting high pressure to article, stationary striker installed in recess for medium transmitting high pressure to article, and movable striker installed in aforesaid recess for possible interaction with end face of multiplicator plunger and moving towards stationary striker and having passages connecting multiplicator high-pressure space with space for medium transmitting high pressure to article. Side surface of multiplicator plunger has circular grooves located at a distance from plunger end face equal to value of plunger stroke. In this case, optimal stamping pressure achieved in recess for medium transmitting high pressure to article, and total volume of circular grooves is equal to volume of medium displaced from aforesaid recess after achieving optimal stamping pressure. Multiplicator high-pressure space is made within base frame and coaxially to it, and high-pressure transmitting recess is arranged within base frame and coaxially to it between high-pressure space of multiplicator and loading opening.
