The tree protector consists of a peripheral shell (20), which rests on the ground and is arranged around the trunk (2) of the tree to be protected. The shell is formed from tubes (21), which are rigid and vertical and arranged in contact side by side, to form a rigid assembly around the trunk. Each tube has an outer diameter of between 10 and 30 cm, and is formed with a side wall (22), which is elastically deformable under a horizontal shock load. The tubes are located by at least two rings (10), of flexible, elastically compressible, damping material, arranged between the trunk and the shell of tubes.
