The friction clutch has a flywheel mass (2) secured to a crankshaft and a casing (5) containing a pressing plate (6) spring loaded towards the mass. The mass and the plate have friction surfaces (4,7) between which is interposed a support (13) carrying on both sides a friction lining rings (16). The friction lining rings have a uniform thickness and are riveted to the support (13) outside the zone of the frictional surfaces. A pair of spaced lining springs may be used instead of the support (13).
