The system has a main brake cylinder (2) with an additional auxiliary power unit (4,a), for modulation of the output pressure of the cylinder. The power unit acts on the element (22), which is in active connection with the brake pedal (3), and is controlled by the regulator unit (7). The power unit is used to adjust the pressure medium volume in the main brake cylinder, so that for pressure reduction in the wheel brake cylinders (11), the main brake cylinder is used to reduce the medium pressure in the wheel brake cylinders. The intake valve (12) is closed during this process. The power unit consists of a piston/cylinder unit.
