The appts. to pack products in a bag has a delivery (24) for the continuous film (27) and a following film guide (31). At least one shaping edge (34,36) at the shaper (28) moves the film into a half-tube (29). An initial conveyor (13) carries the products (23) to the film tube shaper (28) into the shaped half-tube (29). A further conveyor (14) carries the product (23) as well as the film half-tube (29), for the conveyors (13,14) to carry off the packed (52) product (23), in the same direction (16). A cutter/welder (46) is between the two conveyors (3,14) to cut through both film layers (37,38) forming the packaging bag (52) across their widths, forming a lateral welded seam (48). At the film shaping unit (28), the upper and lower shaping shoulders (32, 33) giving the shaping edges (34,36) are over and under the first conveyor (13).
