A process for contacting the winding wire of a spool onto a connection pin, comprises placing the end section (3) of the wire around the connection pin (4) in the form of a winding, applying a solder material (5) and then soldering by applying an arc between the pin and an opposing electrode (7). The arc (11) is produced by connecting the electrode to the anode and the pin to the cathode of a tungsten inert gas direct current source.
