Compositions containing (1) a thermoplastic aromatic polyester, preferably polybutylene terephthalate, and a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) containing aromatic polyester blocks and aliphatic polyester blocks, the ratio by weight of the TPE to the aromatic polyester being 1.1:1 to 20:1, preferably 2:1 to 20:1. Such compositions are particularly useful for wire insulation, for which purpose they may contain flame retardants.
