The wire mesh (12) is located between passenger and load spaces in a motor vehicle. It has a frame (24) and sockets (46, 48, 50, 52) fastened to frame side sections (28, 30). The ends of separate struts (58, 60, 62, 64) are fastened in the sockets via screws. The other strut ends are connected to the spars (54, 58) between windows resp. doors of the vehicle. Plates (66, 68) on the second strut ends support themselves on the spars and are adapted to their shape. The wire mesh frame and the struts consist of tubes. Alternatively, the wire mesh may be a stiff frame-less formed part. Any forces applied by the load in direction of travel, are introduced into the spars via struts and plates.
