Kinetic energy converter for electricity generation

The kinetic energy converter uses at least one wind turbine generator which is mounted at the side of a road and driven by the slip stream of passing traffic, or which is directly mounted on the vehicle itself. The turbine rotor (1) , the generator drive axis coupling (2) the turbogenerator (4) and the current regulator (4) are all provided as compact, lightweight components, housed to be protected from poor weather conditions. Alternatively the energy converter can be used to convert kinetic energy of a fluid flow stream into electrical energy.
