The proposed apparatus for electroslag casting of steel and alloys comprises a crystalliser (1) on the flange (2) of which is mounted an annular electrode (3) and a set of insulating spacers (4) made of a fire-resistant material alternating with coolable rings (5) whose inner surfaces take the form of projections (6) of triangular or trapezoidal profile, said projections joining onto recesses formed by the inner side surfaces of the insulating spacers. The crystalliser, annular electrode and intermediate rings are designed to be water-cooled and made of copper.
