<p>prepn. - by cyclising aminobenzophenone hydrazones. Title cpds. of formula (I): (where X is CO or CH2, R1 is H or lower alkyl, R2 is H, halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy or CF3, and R3 and R4 are H, lower alkyl, halogen, lower alkoxy, CF3, NO2, lower alkylthio, lower alkylsulphinyl or lower alkylsulphonyl), which are anticonvulsants, muscle relaxants and sedatives, are prepd. by cyclising hydrazones of formula (II) or their hydrohalide salts under acidic conditions. (II) can be obtained by reacting corr. esp. 2-NHR1-benzophenones with H2NNR5R6 and reacting the resulting hydrazone with a cpd. halogen -X-CH2NH2 the amino group of which may be protected, any protecting gp. being removed prior to cyclisation to (I).</p> |
