A flange for pre-heating the induction air for an IC engine has an electrically-heated zigzag strip conductor (5) mounted on a carrier. The carrier is a rod 912) with an insulating outer surface and comb-like projections (13) on a sleeve(8). The strip conductor has holes in the winding aligned with each other so that the rod with the projections can be guided in a certain angular direction about the rod axis by these holes. With the position of the bar and strip conductor rotated out of this direction, the projections of the bar lie between successive turns of the conductor. The rod is joined electrically to one end of the conductor.
