The implant consists of a string made from at least two strands (2,3;7-10;12,13;18-21;28,29;31-34;37) which are twisted together into one or alternately into two directions about a common centreline (4). The outer contour of the string is so that it has longitudinal sections of varying diameters. A helical channel is formed between the twisted strands along the circumference of the string. When more than two strands are twisted together, a central channel is formed in the sting.
