The braking servo has a housing (1) divided by a movable wall (2) into a reduced pressure chamber (4) and a working chamber (3), with a control valve (12) contained within a control housing (5) secured to the movable wall. The control valve is operated by an electromagnet (20), independent of the operating rod (7) acting on the valve piston (9) for venting the working chamber. The pneumatic pressure within the working chamber acts on the valve piston or the associated electromagnet housing (25) on the side opposite the seal seats for the control valve.
