The invention relates to a gas bag with at least one gas outlet for an air-bag module. According to the invention, the gas bag has a gas outlet slot (2). The advantage of the arrangement of the invention is that the damping characteristic of the gas bag in the event of a collision is altered in such a way that the "braking effect" of the gas bag acts on a greater gas bag thickness and the load on the passengers is reduced.
