Engine valve seat mfg. accuracy checking system

The mfg. accuracy checking system uses a measuring device with a thorn inserted in the valve shaft bore and a measuring sensor contacting the valve seat, rotated through at least 360 degrees, with the corresponding measuring signals fed to an evaluation device. A force is applied initially for overcoming the friction between the thorn and the valve shaft bore, to bring a rotatable measuring ring supporting the sensor into contact with the valve seat, before raising the measuring ring into a reference plane at right angles to the valve shaft axis, in which it is rotated for scanning the valve seat by the sensor.
