An ultrasound horn comprises a main body (1) with a narrow end and a ceramic tool (2) secured to the narrow end of the body (1). The main body (1) is made of a heat-treated Al alloy. Also claimed is an alternative ultrasound horn comprising the above main body and ceramic body, but with an intermediate layer (4,5,6) made of soft metal contg. Al between the main body (1) and the ceramic tool (2).
