<p>The invention relates to a method for modelling signal spectrum by means of linear prediction and an apparatus for realising the method. In said method, there is formed a prediction for a future signal as a linear combination of earlier signal values by utilising the filter. According to the invention, the filter is formed of a number of filter elements, each filter element (5; 19, 20) being realised so that its transfer function is of the form (6) where the coefficients a0, ..., aN and b0, ..., bD are real and/or complex coefficients, in which case the transfer function of the linear prediction is described in the form (7) where ηk is the prediction coefficient, k is the auxiliary coefficient and p is the filter power value, and in which case the parametric model H(z) obtained for the signal spectrum is (8): H(z) = 1/[1-P(z)].</p> |
