The present inventions relate to a base comprising amorphous agar for a sustained-release pharmaceutical preparation, a production method of the sustained-release pharmaceutical preparation which method using the amorphous agar as the base, and a sustained-release pharmaceutical preparation in which the amorphous agar is combined as the base. According to the present inventions, the sustained-release pharmaceutical preparation is provided by using a conventional method.
