Hand-operated can-press

The press has a handle (10) pressing against a clamping block (4) on the stem (9) of a punch (2), thrusting the latter upwards. A small plate (8) then clamps the stem, so that it cannot drop until the handle is pulled towards the user and the plate is pressed upwards. At the top is a V-shaped edge (11) causing the top can edge to fold. A rubber stop (3) prevents a shock-load from the punch dropping. The handle contains a weakened point so as to distort under overload.
