PURPOSE: To obtain polymerized particles well holding a toner surface modifying component and having satisfactory releasability and flowability without causing aggregation in a process for drying polymerized particles and to obtain a toner for developing an electrostatic charge image. CONSTITUTION: A dyeing agent is added to a polymerized particle-dispersed liq. after dispersion polymn. and before drying to dye the polymerized particles, inorg. or org. fine particles are added to the dispersed liq. and this liq. is dried to obtain the object polymerized particles. A surface coating agent soluble in the dispersed liq. and inorg. or org. fine particles may be added in place of only the inorg. or org. fine particles.
