PURPOSE: To alter the object road of a route search according to a user's intention by making it so as to perform the route search in excluding all the roads subject to traffic regulation only in the case where such a fact information on this traffic regulation in taken into account has been set. CONSTITUTION: A car position is detected with a current position detector 1, and a starting point of a route search is set up on a route being possible for this route search existing in and around this detected vehicle position. A user induces destination information inputted by an input unit 3, setting up an ending point of this route search on a road being possible for this route search existing in and around the destination. A map storage memory 7 makes a display unit 6 store map displaying data consisting of information on a road form and a route searching data consisting of junction point information or the like and operating a recommended route. A fact of whether the operation of the recommended route is performed or not after taking information on the traffic regulation to be stored in the memory 7 is determined. Only in the case where this fact that information on the traffic regulation is teken into account is determined, the roads being subjected to the traffic regulation are excluded and the recommended route is operated. |
