PURPOSE: To greatly reduce noise to be generated by a motor and to remarkably lower actuation sound of a garbage disposer by providing a garbage disposer which is fitted to a sink and disintegrates or dehydrates garbage, with an active type deadening device for deadening the actuation sound of the garbage disposer. CONSTITUTION: Garbage and water are thrown from an adapter 14 into a case upper part 16 in a state in which a motor 24 is actuated to rotate an impeller 34. Garbage is sprung out by the impeller 34 and also ground between the impeller 34 and the internal surface of the case upper part 16 and finely disintegrated. Thereafter, garbage is discharged together with water from an opening 38 to a discharge port 42. By the way, actuation sound of the motor 24 is collected by a microphone 50 and also sound (interference sound) of a phase reverse thereto is outputted toward the motor 24 from a speaker 48. Thereby, noise generated by the motor 24 is deadened. In other works, both the sound collection microphone 50 fitted to the motor 24 and a microphone 52 for evaluation attached on the external surface of a case lower part 18 are connected to a deadening controller 44 together with a speaker 48. |
