PURPOSE: To provide an image forming device whose printing quality is stable by restraining the fluctuation of line width, the density of a screen, resolving power at the time of printing caused by the fluctuation of environmental conditions such as temperature. CONSTITUTION: This device has an exposure mechanism 11 forming a latent image on a latent image carrier 14 by performing scanning with light emitted from a laser light source based on printing data, and a processing mechanism 12 making the latent image a visible image by causing toner to stick on the carrier 14. The exposure mechanism 11 is provided with a maximum sticking layer adjusting laser scanning mechanism 13 which is adjusted so that the beam diameter of the luminous flux emitted from the laser light source is minimum on the carrier 14 near the environmental condition that the thickness of the toner sticking layer on the carrier 14 is maximum out of the environmental conditions where image forming is guaranteed. |
