PURPOSE: To efficiently and economically prevent the blocking of the passages of a catalyst block without using soot blow equipment having a problem from a aspect of economical efficiency in a catalytic denitration apparatus used in the denitration of exhaust gas containing a large amt. of solid matter such as combustion dust. CONSTITUTION: Strainers 3 for preventing the blocking of a large number of the vertical independent passages 16 of a catalyst block 2 are arranged above the catalyst block. Each of the strainers 3 has a honeycomb structure having a large number of vertical independent passages 15 narrower than the passages 16 of the catalyst block 2. The base ends of the strainers 3 are attached to a support frame so as to be freely revolvable around the horizontal axes of them and cams are arranged to the rear surfaces of the strainers at required positions so as to shake the strainers 3. Sweepers for removing accumulated dust are arranged so as to be freely movable along the upper surfaces of the strainers 3. |
