WATER-REPELLING FIBER AND NONWOVEN FABRIC MADE THEREOF

PURPOSE: To obtain a water-repelling fiber having both water repellency and antistaticity improved to practically satisfiable levels and obtain nonwoven fabric produced by using the fiber. CONSTITUTION: The surface of a fiber composed of a thermoplastic resin is coated with 0.1-0.8wt.% (based on the fiber) of a textile oil composed of (A) 5-15wt.% of at least one kind of alkylsulfonic acid salt, (B) 5-45wt.% of at least one kind of compound selected from polyhydric alcohol esters and fatty acid alkanol amides and (C) 40-90wt.% of at least one kind of compound selected from dibasic acid esters and polyethylene glycol esters.
