PURPOSE: To make it possible to produce a color liquid crystal display device which has patterning spacers having adhesive strength as gap holders of a liquid crystal display device of an STN type ferroelectric type and liquid crystal display of antiferroelectric type liquid crystals particularly requiring gap accuracy, has excellent flatness of color filter parts and is formed by using color filter substrates having high-strength leader electrodes on glass. CONSTITUTION: This liquid crystal display device has a substrate 5 to be provided with color filters 4 and a black matrix 3, overcoating films 21 to be disposed on these color filters 4 and transparent conductive films to be disposed on these overcoating films 21. The overcoating films 21 have projections 22. These projections 22 are formed as the patterning spacers acting as the cell gap holders. |
