PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus for producing color filters capable of decreasing defective articles by discovering the abnormality of an ink jet head. CONSTITUTION: This process for producing the color filters produced by arraying and forming plural pieces of filter elements colored on a light transmissive substrate 12 includes a coloring stage for coloring the filter elements by discharging coloring agents of prescribed colors onto the filter elements while scanning the surface of the substrate 12 with the ink jet head, a detecting stage for picking up pattern images 211 of the filter elements on the peripheries including the parts colored in the last of the scanning of the head and detecting the abnormality of coloration from these pattern images and a correcting stage for correcting the filter elements with which the abnormality of the coloration is detected. |
