PURPOSE: To obtain excellent coloring sensitivity and improve preservation stability of un-colored parts and colored images by adding a specified salicylic acid derivative, at least one kind to be selected from metallic salt of the derivative, and a specified benzophenone compound as an electron acceptive compound in a thermal recording material. CONSTITUTION: A thermal recording material contains an electron donative coloring compound and an electron acceptive compound. For the electron acceptive compound, a salicylic acid derivative to be expressed by a formula I, at least one kind to be selected from the metallic salt of the derivative, and a compound to be expressed by a formula II are added. In the formulas, X1 , X2 represent hydrogen atom, alkyl group, alkoxy group, aralkyl group, aryl group or halogen atom, Y1 , Y2 represent oxygen atom or sulphur atom, R1 represents hydrogen atom, alkyl group, aralkyl group or aryl group, R2 represents alkyl group, alkenyl group, aralkyl group or aryl group, X3 -X12 represent hydrogen atom, alkyl group, alkoxy group or halogen atom. It never occurs that X3 -X12 represent hydrogen atom at the same time. |
